PDF format: Hush Hush cover

For this project, I wanted to maintain the dramatic impact of the original cover using type only. Based on the concept of this novel’s original cover by James Porto, I have arranged the “hush”s to mimic the falling of the archangel that is sent to Earth to murder the protagonist and gain mortality as a reward. The novel is based on the idea of “be careful who you trust.” In conjunction with this theme, the small “hush”s represent the people or circumstances that the protagonist runs into that are untrustworthy, leading to the final explosion of danger with “HUSH HUSH.” The harsh treatment of a seemingly soft word is meant to represent the tension that is carried throughout the novel’s plot.
