At Cinefilles, censorship definitely isn’t a thing—at all; authors write how they feel, fostering a sense of community in which all contributors are given equal opportunity to further develop their writing skills and showcase their personalities. It’s a fun and intelligent stage for women with a passion for film. Having said that, authors can swear like a sailor if the mood permits, so please be aware that some of the following pieces may be a little past PG.

With the high ultraviolet (UV) rays, air pollution, and changes in climate that we expose our skin to every day, the environment can be rough on our skin’s vitality and it can even speed up the aging process. Of course, we’ve all heard this before, but new research has found that as harmful as the environment can be, it also plays a role in reversing these negative effects. 
While the benefits of exercise are well-known, a recent study has revealed that those who get fit at forty may see the results in the form of a longer lifespan. 


We’ve written before about the connections that people can create over food—from visiting farmers’ markets and meeting the people who supply our healthy food to simply joining the family for dinnertime at the table. But with Father’s Day this Sunday, I thought I’d share a little story with you about how my grandfather (with some help from my grandmother’s cooking) united a whole community through food.
